How It All Started
When Jonny Met Paul
Jonny needed a mortgage, but after going to his high street bank for help, he was laughed out because he was self-employed and also had a bad credit history. He then spoke to a number of mortgage brokers who all told him his dream of owning a home wasn’t going to happen. But then Jonny met Paul.
Paul was a specialist mortgage broker who took the time to listen to Jonny and found him a mortgage with a specialist lender - a lender with human underwriters who looked at the story behind the numbers. Jonny soon realised his situation was far from unique. Lots of eligible people get unfairly turned down for a mortgage - they often aren’t aware there’s a whole specialist mortgage market there to help people just like them. So Jonny and Paul teamed up to create Haysto to make mortgages possible for more people.
